Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce to host county candidates at luncheon
SHAMOKIN - The public is welcome to hear candidates for public office speak Wednesday in an event sponsored by the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is holding its monthly luncheon for members at 11:30 a.m., but will then open the doors to the public at noon when the candidates begin speaking. The event will take place in Room 408 at the Northumberland County branch of Luzerne County Community College in the career and arts center, 2 E. Arch St.
The annual political luncheon is sponsored by The News-Item.
The following county candidates have confirmed they plan to attend: Chris Grayson and Tony Phillips, controller; James Kelley and Leo Mirolli Jr., coroner, and Meg Bartos and Justin Dunkleberger, prothonotary.
Each candidate will be given five minutes to speak. It is not a debate-style format. If time allows, questions will be taken from the public.
