Brush Valley Chamber to host awards dinner
The Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce annual awards dinner is quickly approaching. The object of the annual awards dinner is for the chamber to recognize the award recipients for their dedication and unselfish contributions, not only to the Chamber, but to its communities.
There are five different awards that have been given out over the years, with the addition of a sixth award for 2014. The awards include Member of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Small and Large Business of the Year, Community Pride Award and Elected Official of the Year.
In order to be eligible for an award, you must first be nominated by a chamber member. All of the awards are only eligible for chamber members with the exception of Elected Official of the Year.
The Brush ValleyRegional Chamber of Commerce looks forward to awarding these deserving chamber members for their hard work and dedication.
The dinner is being held 6 to 9 p.m. April 24 at the Brady Banquet Hall in Coal Township.
Area Services is celebrating its 25th anniversary and will be hosting a business after-hours from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at their office in Shamokin. Come celebrate and congratulate Area Services for their milestone anniversary.
In preparation of the grand opening of the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area May 16 and 17, and in honor of Shamokin's 150th Anniversary, the chamber, along with local businesses, is organizing a Beautify Downtown Shamokin project. The project will include a clean-up of the downtown, as well as asking local students, business owners and organizations to paint murals on storefront windows, or window displays, in downtown Shamokin. The murals and displays could be something that pertains to the history of Shamokin, school pride, welcoming ATV riders, or something as simple as displaying what your organization is all about.
