COAL TOWNSHIP - Angel Food Ministries is accepting orders for its July menu.
There is no income requirement to take part in the program, and everyone is welcome to purchase the packages.
There has been an increased value in each box of Angel Food. In the Signature Box, there is plenty of quality protein, additional veggies and a healthier variety.
All meat on the special menu is vacuum sealed to extend freezer life.
At a cost of $30, the basic package from Angel Food provides enough food for an individual for one month or a family of four for about one week.
July's menu includes: 1.5 pounds New York strip steaks, 1.5 pounds boneless pork roast, 1.5 pounds lean ground beef, 1 pound chicken breast fajita, 2 pounds chicken stir-fry skillet meal, 12 ounces deli-sliced ham, 5 ounces chunk light tuna in water, 25 ounces pasta sauce, 1 pound pasta, 1 pound frozen sliced carrots, 12 white corn tortillas, 4 fresh large baking potatoes, 1 fresh fajita veggie kit, 1 celery stalk, 32 ounces shelf stable milk, one dozen eggs and dessert.
A senior box menu is available. It consists of 10 individual meals that are fully cooked and labeled, complete with heating instructions. These meals are for seniors or for those on the go. Each meal has no added sodium, is low in fat and is nutritionally balanced for seniors with 3 ounces of protein, two vegetables or fruit and a starch. The box sells for $28.
