The barn on the farm of Wesley Keener in Rush Township, Northumberland County, near Riverside, burns out of control Friday morning. An estimated 60 cows died in the blaze. See story, Page A1.

RIVERSIDE (AP) - A barn fire that may have been sparked by a heat lamp killed dozens of cows at a dairy farm in Rush Township near this Northumberland County borough Friday morning.

Farm owner Wesley Keener estimates 60 cows and calves died in the blaze. He said about 20 were saved.

Keener suspects a heat lamp ignited livestock bedding in the barn, which was destroyed.
