2009 Mount Carmel Area High homecoming court announced

MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School recently announced its 2009 Homecoming Court.

The sophomore representative from Wilburton is Haleyrae Mazur, a daughter of Seth Mazur and Alice Ann Reilly. Her activities include cheerleading, senior high chorus and honor roll.

A junior representative from Mount Carmel is Bridget Greco. She is a daughter of Jeffrey and Martha Greco. Her activities include varsity cheerleading, competitive cheerleading, dance classes, volleyball, powderpuff football, art club, student council and National Honor Society.

A junior representative from Mount Carmel is Tianna Kobilis, a daughter of Robert and Carolyn Bolick. Kobilis participates in softball, color guard, chemistry club, SADD club, Latin club and student council. She is also in National Honor Society and is on the distinguished honor roll.

A senior representative from Kulpmont is Amanda Yucha. She is a daughter of Chris and Carolyn Yucha. Her activities include varsity track and field, student council, SADD, Latin club, vice president of Future Teachers of America and captain of powderpuff football.

The second senior candidate from Kulpmont is Danielle Lawler. She is a daughter of Daniel Lawler and Lisa Blessing. Her activities include indoor and outdoor varsity track and field, cross country, varsity and competitive cheerleading, captain of powderpuff team, SADD, Spanish club and secretary of Future Teachers of America.

The third senior candidate from Kulpmont is Jordan Phillipine, a daughter of Michael and Toni Phillipine. Her activities include captain of varsity football cheerleading and varsity basketball cheerleading, art club, yearbook editor, Spanish club and honor roll.

The candidates for homecoming queen will be escorted by senior members of the football team: Ahmad Abuomar, captain, John Amarose, Trevor Demko, captain, T.J. Heromin, Adam Joraskie and Justin Pellowski, captain.

The queen will be crowned at halftime of the Mount Carmel Area - Southern Columbia Area football game on Friday.

The Mount Carmel Area School District would like to thank the following people for their cooperation in making this year's homecoming activities a success: Ronnie Scicchitano, Greg Haladay, Butch Varano, Bill Ahrensfield from B&B Service Center, Steve Delbo from Delta Motors, Al Horsefield from A&F Automotive, Manny Giorgini from Giorgini Construction, and Brian Lefler from Tire Ranch.
