108th district candidate failed to get enough write-ins
SUNBURY - John Deppen failed to garner at least 300 write-in votes in the May 20 primary election and will not be the Democratic candidate for the 108th Legislative District in the Nov. 4 general election.
The Northumberland resident tallied 288 total votes in Northumberland and Snyder counties. He received 271 votes in Northumberland County and 17 in Snyder County from regular and absentee ballots.
In order to be placed on the ballot in November, Deppen needed 300 votes, which is the same number of required signatures on a nominating petition.
Republican State Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver, of Rockefeller Township, is running for her third, two-year term.
