CARBONDALE, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he beat a man until he was unconscious then bit the leg of a police officer who responded to the incident.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 23-year-old Christopher Warren, of Carbondale, who remained in the Lackawanna County Prison unable to post bond on charges including aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Carbondale police say they arrested Warren after responding to the reported beating about 2:50 a.m. Sunday.
There they found 33-year-old Russell Haynes, also of Carbondale, badly beaten and unconscious. He was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton where he was listed in good condition several hours later.
The patrolman was treated for the bite to his thigh, and received shots to protect him from communicative diseases.
