MEYERSDALE, Pa. (AP) — A man charged with killing his girlfriend and burying her in a shallow grave is back in Pennsylvania to face charges.

Twenty-three-year-old Jonathan Beal was brought back from Louisiana on Saturday night and arraigned in the death of 19-year-old Justine Jackson.

Investigators say Beal strangled Jackson then buried her body near the Great Allegheny Passage biking and hiking trail in Meyersdale, Somerset County. Jackson's body was discovered Nov. 11, nearly two months after she was last seen walking nearby.

Authorities tracked Beal to the New Orleans suburb of Marrero, where he was arrested Wednesday.

Jackson told friends she was pregnant with Beal's child. Authorities haven't commented on those statements, saying it could compromise their investigation.

Court records don't list an attorney for Beal.
