Lourdes students named to district chorus, band

Two students from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School have qualified for District 8 Chorus, and one student has qualified for both District 8 Chorus and Band. Paul Gilliland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gilliland, of Bloomsburg and Jordan Pinamonti, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pinamonti, of Elysburg, both seniors, have qualified for district chorus. Miranda Moyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Moyer, of Shamokin, also a senior, has qualified for both district band and district chorus. The three are students of Kevin Haile, Lourdes music director.

1-vehicle crash SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington. Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m.
