ALDERSON

LOCUST GAP — Aleah Alderson, of Locust Gap, 11, a fifth-grade student at Mount Carmel Area Elementary School, wrote a poem, titled “Lost Love,” that has been selected for publication in the fall 2009 hardbound anthology, “A Collection of Poets.”

Aleah entered the poem in a student poetry contest. Thomas Whorten, editor of Creative Communications, notified her of the publication. She was informed that most entries submitted for the contest are not accepted for publication.

Aleah is a distinguished honor student. She competes in the Odyssey of the Mind competition.

She is a daughter of Krista and Fred Neitz, of Locust Gap, and Brian and Shelly Alderson, of Coal Township.
