Community Thanksgiving service to be held Sunday at Seventh Street Church
SHAMOKIN - Parishioners of all churches in the Shamokin-Coal Township area are invited to a community Thanksgiving service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Seventh Street Primitive Methodist Church, located between Arch and Chestnut streets.
The special service is planned by the Shamokin Area Ministerium of Churches. It is one of several community projects sponsored each year by the ministerium.
This year's service will include participation by a choir composed of individual vocalists representing many of the churches affiliated with the ministerium. The choir will sing a special anthem during the offering. Participating members are asked to assemble at the Seventh Street Primitive Methodist Church at 5 p.m. Sunday for a pre-service practice session.
Other participating members of the ministerium scheduled to participate in the service are the Revs. Robert Peiffer, Richard Earl, David Byerly, David Wildoner, Brian Betsworth, and Sam Belavia, and lay representatives Frank Stoshak and Harry Deitz. Peggy Morris will serve as organist.
The offering will go to the Shamokin Ministerium emergency fund.
