KULPMONT — Three search warrants issued in the suspicious death investigation of 22-year-old Kortni Ann Kenenitz of Kulpmont revealed the victim and her live-in 29-year-old boyfriend, John Tym, consumed drugs and alcohol while partying at a home in Mount Carmel and later partied at a Girardville residence before returning to Kulpmont Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Northumberland County Coroner James F. Kelley announced Friday afternoon that he must await toxicology test results before determining a cause of death. With that, the cause and manner of death is listed as "pending investigation," Kelley reported. However, he did say there were "no signs of trauma to Kortni's body."

Kenenitz was pronounced dead at 9:25 a.m. Thursday in the back seat of her vehicle, which was parked along Chestnut Street (Route 61) in Kulpmont in front of her home.

Tym, who is incarcerated at Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville after being picked up Thursday on an arrest warrant dealing with a prior incident in Mahanoy Township, told authorities he “blacked out” after leaving the Mount Carmel residence and had no recollection of what happened after they left Girardville. He didn’t recall how Kenenitz and himself got home, according to information contained in the search warrants.

Further details from the bench warrants will be reported in Saturday's print and online editions of The News-Item.
