DAMASCUS, Md. - Emily Weidner and Kyle Connaghan were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church, the bride's home parish, in Damascus, Md. The Rev. Joseph Pierce officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of John and Diane Weidner. The groom is a son of John and Kathy Connaghan.
Stephanie Forbes, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor, and Kristen Weidner, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Courtney Cecco, cousin of the groom, and Jamie Obendorfer and Katelyn Cavanaugh, the bride's childhood friends. The flower girls were Meridith, Caroline and Virginia Forbes, nieces of the bride.
The best man was Sean Connaghan, brother of the groom. Ushers were Kevin Rhoades and Brenton Surak, childhood friends of the groom, Tom Ryan, friend of the groom, and Nick Calabrese, cousin of the bride. Alex Knoebel, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.
A reception was held at Linganore Winecellars, Mount Airy, Md. and the couple honeymooned in Santa Lucia.
The bride is a graduate of Damascus High School, Damascus, Md., and James Madison University. She is employed in the field of marketing and events.
The groom is a graduate of Southern Columbia High School and James Madison University. He works as a registered nurse. He is currently a student in the Geisinger-Bloomsburg nurse anesthesia graduate program.
The couple reside in Elysburg.
