LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Jennifer Parisella and Michael Balkie were married under the bright lights of Las Vegas, with the Rev. Elizabeth Iazzetta performing the ceremony Feb. 23, 2013.
The bride is a daughter of Bonnie and Ernie Parisella, of Mount Carmel. The groom is a son of Paula (Muracewski) Wright, a Mount Carmel native and currently living in Barnegat, N.J., and William Balkie, of Mount Laurel, N.J.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Mount Carmel Area Junior-Senior High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Bucknell University, her master's degree in 2001 from the University of Delaware, and her certificate of advanced study in 2003 from the University of Delaware. She is employed by the Christina School District in Newark, Del., as a school psychologist.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Lenape Regional High School in Mount Laurel, N.J. He served eight years in the U.S. Navy, where he earned his dolphins qualifying in submarines. He is employed by Catelli Brothers Inc., in Collingswood, N.J., as a maintenance mechanic.
The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas following their ceremony. They reside in Sewalk, N.J., with Michael's son, Dylan. They are expecting a child in August.
