Kulpmont Football/Baseball Association
Meetings, first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
For tee-ball, softball, baseball and teener league, Thursdays, Feb. 6 and 13, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kulpmont Borough Hall. Any new player must provide a copy of their birth certificate. Registration fee will apply. Any questions, call 570-205-4226.
SCT Lady Bombers Registration/Open Practices
Registration is Saturday, Feb. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on Sunbury St. Any girl in the Shamokin/Coal Township and surrounding areas ages four to 14 are invited to register. Any new players are required to bring original birth certificate. Fee is $30 for 7-under through 12-under and $35 for 14-under. Open practices will be held at the Mount Carmel BSI building/police station on Vine St. Practices run every other Sunday from 3-5 p.m., and players are asked to bring $5 to cover rental fee of the gym. PIAA Basketball Officials
The Shamokin Chapter of PIAA basketball officials, the last meeting will be noon Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Shamokin Knights of Columbus on East Independence Street.

Little League Baseball Registration
Any child ages 4-15 residing in the Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area school districts or attending Lourdes Regional, Meadowview Christian, Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area schools may register to play Little League Baseball. Registration for players and coaches will be Wednesday, Feb. 12 and Feb. 26, 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 22, 10 a.m. to noon at the Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. All players need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and any new player to the league must bring the child's original or state-certified birth certificate. The fee is $30 for the first child and $15 for each additional child in the same family. After Feb. 26, there will be a late fee of $50 for the first child and $25 for each additional child in the same family. Call 644-5050 during business hours with any questions.
CYO Night at Lourdes
Saturday, Feb. 1 when the Lourdes Regional boys basketball team hosts Lincoln Leadership Academy. All CYO players and coaches are admitted to the game free. They are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to give to Manna for the Many food bank. All players and coaches also receive a free hot dog and soda. All players should wear their jersey. 'D' teams will be playing throughout the night with the following schedule: Holy Rosary vs. Holy Angels, halftime of the JV game; OLOH Blue vs. Mount Carmel Catholic 1, between the JV and varsity game; OLOH White vs. Mother Cabrini vs. Mount Carmel Catholic 2, halftime of the varsity game.
S/CT Division of MCJBL
The Shamokin/Coal Township Division of the Mount Carmel Junior Baseball League will hold registration, Saturday, Feb. 1, noon to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at Rob's Good Time Grill, Market and Spruce streets, Shamokin. All new and returning players ages 4-12 can register at this time. Any new player must provide a copy of their birth certificate. Fee is $20 per player. Kulpmont Knights of Columbus
Annual free throw championship for boys and girls ages 9-14 as of Jan. 1, Feb. 2, 1 p.m. at the Holy Angels Youth Center, 829 Scott St., Kulpmont. There is no entrance fee and prizes will be given away. Registration will be completed upon arrival. For more information, contact Tony Mazzatesta at 570-205-6023. Entrants are reminded they may compete in only one council competition.
Coaches vs. Cancer
A Coaches vs. Cancer basketball marathon will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Mount Carmel Area High School gym featuring the boys and girls teams from Southern Columbia and Mount Carmel. Order of games will be boys JV, 3 p.m.; girls JV, 4:30 p.m.; boys varsity, 6 p.m., and girls varsity, 7:30 p.m. The event is organized to raise money for cancer research. The public can support the event by ordering special t-shirts, available at both high school offices. The shirts are light blue with a cancer ribbon and each school's logo. Cost is $10 for youth small to adult large, and $2 extra for 2X or larger. Orders may be placed by calling the high school offices at either Southern Columbia or Mount Carmel.
Cabrini Teener Baseball
Registration, Saturday, Feb. 1, noon to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Rob's Good Time Grill, Market and Spruce streets, Shamokin. Mount Carmel Rotary Football Banquet
Tickets are now available for the 95th annual Mount Carmel Area football banquet, sponsored by Rotary. The banquet is Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Brady Fire Co. banquet hall. This year's guest speaker is Mike Higgins, the starting quarterback from the 1994 Mount Carmel state championship team. Tickets cost $20 and are on sale at Academy Sports Center, Matlow's, Community Pharmacy and the Mount Carmel Area high school athletic office.
Adult Open Gym at Mount Carmel Area
The district will have an open gym for adults from 7 to 9 p.m. each Sunday in the elementary gym through April 12. Sneakers or approved athletic shoes must be worn. Questions can be directed to the athletic department at Mount Carmel, 570 339-1500.
Ralpho Township MCJBL Registrations
Registrations for youth baseball and softball for children ages four to 12 will be Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ralpho Township Fire Company on Mill Street. All new players will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate. Registration fee for the first child in a family is $45, $35 for the second child and $25 for the third. Zerbe Township Rod and Gun Club
Open house will be held, Sunday, Feb. 23, at the club grounds in Trevorton. Vendors will include Bait, Barrels and Bows and Kahler's Gun Shop. The indoor shooting range for .22 rifles and .177 air rifles will be open. There may be a BB gun competition for youths. Food and drinks will be served and the public is invited to attend.
Team Seeks Player
The Schuylkill Black Diamonds 12u boys travel baseball team is seeking a player for the upcoming travel season. Above average pitching skills preferred. Team will play six tournaments, including a trip to play at Cooperstown All-Star Village. Weekend tournaments and fundraising required. Shamokin Area Spring Physicals
Shamokin Area Middle/High School will offer spring sports physicals on Friday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m. Students who plan on participating in a spring sport should attend. If you already had a fall or winter physical, you have to fill out a recertification paper. Physicals will be done by Dr. Miller at a cost of $20 (cash only, no checks). Fee must be paid at time of physical. Spring sports are junior high track, varsity boys and girls track, junior high boys soccer, junior high girls soccer, varsity softball and varsity baseball. Forms can be downloaded from the school website at Indians.k12.pa by selecting the high school or middle school and clicking on "Athletic Forms" along the left. Forms must be completed by a parent/guardian prior to Feb. 21. Students who do not have a completed PIAA physical evaluation will not be permitted to participate in a sport, including practice. The physical packets and recertification papers can also be picked up in the principal's office.
Anthracite Firemen Junior Baseball
Registration, Friday, Jan. 31, 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room of the fire company. Registration fee is $20 per child. Registration is for ages 4 through 12 (with the exception of the 8-year-old age group, which is filled). Returning players must register. any questions, call coach Todd at 570-339-3884. All coaches are urged to attend at 6:30 p.m. for a brief meeting.
Atlas Fire Co. Registrations
The Atlas Fire Co. baseball team will hold registrations, Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the fire company's social hall. Players four to 12 are welcome. New players must bring birth certificate. Fee is $25. Returning players are also required to register.
