Mrs. Dora Whyne and the late David Whyne, of Mount Carmel, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Andrea Whyne, to Charles Martz, a son of Bethann and William Whilden, of Catawissa, and Tom and Gayle Martz, of Berwick.
The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of the late John and Sarah Whyne, of Wilburton, and the late Ray and Dorothy Percival, of Montgomery. The groom-to-be is a grandson of Mrs. Betty Zearfoss and the late Glen Bowman, of Millerstown, and the late Charles and Martha Martz, of Berwick.
The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School. She attended Bloomsburg University where she majored in biology, and is employed at the Darla Fausey State Farm Insurance Agency, Coal Township, as a licensed business acquisitions specialist.
The groom-to-be is a 1996 graduate of Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School, and a former member of the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He is employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
An Aug. 16, 2014, wedding is planned. It will be held in Fountain Springs with their family, friends, and children, Hunter Whyne and Corin Martz, in attendance.
