Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kobi
DEN-MAR GARDENS - Joseph and Marie Kobi, 1810 Florida Lane, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Family and friends gathered at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club in Virginia Beach, Va., to honor the couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Kobi were joined in holy wedlock in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Charles Petrasek in St. Mary's Church in Shamokin on May 28, 1949.
They are the parents of a son, Cmdr. Jim Kobi, and his wife, Katharine, of Virginia Beach, Va., and a daughter, JoAnn, and her husband, Richard Coley Sr., of Clearwater Beach, Fla.
The couple's grandchildren include Karen (Kaia) and husband Michail Petin, of Texas, Matthew and wife Erin Siegel, of Texas, Maxine and husband Rabbi Hayyim Angel, of New York City, Nathan Siegel, of New York City, Allison and husband Andrew Oxenreiter, Esq., of Richmond, Va., Brian Donahue, of Arlington, Va., Richard Coley Jr., of Tampa, Fla., and Caroline Coley, of Tampa, Fla. The couple has a great-granddaughter, Molly Siegel, of Texas.
The Kobis were proprietors of Kobi's Market and Hoagie Shop for 42 years, located at Locust and Water Streets in Mount Carmel. Marie Kobi also was employed at HenLee's Dress Shoppe and the Family Medical Support Services, both in Mount Carmel.
