GORDON - Alessa Lynne Dalpiaz and James Robert Houston were united in marriage on Nov. 7, 2009, with Pastor John Wallace presiding over the service at Simpson United Methodist Church in Gordon.
The bride is the daughter of Chris and Dot Blase of Mount Carmel Estates and Joe and Kathy Dalpiaz of Duncanville, Texas. She is a granddaughter of Dot Taylor, Mount Carmel, and the late Lester Taylor, and the late Albert and Violet Dalpiaz, who lived in Atlas.
The groom is the son of Donna Houston, Gordon, and the late James "Sam" Houston. He is a grandson of the late J. Robert and C. Isabelle Lynch, Gordon, and the late James Houston Jr., who lived in Kulpmont, and the late Anna Mae Reber, who lived in Auburn.
The couple chose Jessica Flowers, friend of the bride, as maid of honor and John Houston, brother of the groom, as best man. The bridesmaids were Laura Halon, Jacquelyn Kelly and Michelle O'Connell, friends of the couple, and Lauren Taylor, cousin of the bride. Groomsmen were Tom Dando, friend of the groom, and Tim Duceman, Luke Duceman and Joe Dalpiaz, brothers of the bride.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Emily and Will Taylor, cousins of the bride. Andrew and Justin Taylor, cousins of the bride, served in the ceremony, and Steve Reichwein and Bethany Gibbs, friends of the couple, served as greeters.
The reception was held as Masser's Banquet Hall, Paxinos. Afterward, the couple honeymooned in Orlando, Fla. The Houstons reside in New Columbia.
Alessa is a 2003 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology. She is employed in the laboratory at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, as a medical technologist.
James is a 2003 graduate of North Schuylkill High School and a 2007 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He is employed at Concern Counseling, Lewisburg, and is working toward a master's degree in social work through Marywood University.
