A son, Riley James Harner, was born to Andrew Harner and Felicia Ahrensfield, of 327 S. Oak St., Mount Carmel, at 4:02 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at The Bloomsburg Hospital. The baby weighed 9 pounds and was 20 3/4 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are William and Emma Ahrensfield. Paternal grandparents are Debbie and Arnie Harner.

Shikellamy grad receives double lung transplant

Nineteen year-old Ashley Spotts, suffering from cystic fibrosis and diabetes, got a Valentine's Day gift of life: a bilateral lung transplant. The 12-hour operation took place Sunday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Presbyterian Hospital.
