HERSHEY – All three Southern Columbia wrestlers competing in the state tournament have won their quarterfinal bouts and have guaranteed themselves a top eight finish and a medal.

UPDATE: Those three wrestlers - Todd Lane, Kent Lane and Blake Marks - will wrestle for gold Saturday after winning their semifinals matches Friday.
Parade of champions is at 2 p.m. at the Giant Center Saturday. The News-Item will be on hand to cover the three matches from many different angles.

In action this morning, Todd lane defeated Willie Gruver of Red Bank Valley 6-0 in a bout at 120 pounds.

His cousin, Kent Lane, defeated George McGuire of Fort LeBouef 2-1 in the 138-pound weight class, notching his 100th career win in the process.

And at 152, Blake Marks defeated Brodie Zacherl of Brookville, 8-2.

The semifinals start at 6:30 tonight. Winners go on to Saturday’s finals, while losers move to the consolation bracket to wrestler for third through eighth.

Todd Lane will wrestle Joey Gould of Bethlehem Catholic, Kent Lane will wrestle Jake Wentzel of South Park, and Marks will wrestle  Richie Cerebe of Calvary Christian.
