The moon shines brightly above Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, Sunday evening. The church is holding an Election Day spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in Divine Mercy Hall in the 400 Block of West Cherry Street, Mount Carmel. Cost is $7 for adults. Takeout is available, but bring your own containers. Meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, butter, dessert, coffee and juice.

Shikellamy grad receives double lung transplant

Nineteen year-old Ashley Spotts, suffering from cystic fibrosis and diabetes, got a Valentine's Day gift of life: a bilateral lung transplant. The 12-hour operation took place Sunday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Presbyterian Hospital.
